According to last month’s Housing Trends Reports, the San Antonio metro area housing market saw an increase in almost every category. The average home price saw a 16% increase to $393,197 according to SABOR, while Median prices increased by 24% to $348,800. However, the area saw a slight decrease in total closed sales by 2% with a total of 3,580 homes sold.

The price per square foot increased to $188, a 20% increase from last year.

SABOR’s Chairman of the Board, Tracie Hasslocher, said, “Closing the month, there were 4,621 new listings, 3,295 pending sales, and 6,029 active listings, which is an increase of 37 percent from May 2021.”

Overall, Bexar County reported an increase in the average price by 17.1%, and the median price increased by 19.9%. The price per square foot also increased by 20.6 percent, now at $199. Homes stayed on the market for 26 days (about 3 and a half weeks), with 1.6 months of inventory and 102 percent selling for their list price.
