The Homefront United Network was founded by Angela Caban in 2010, due to her experiences while her husband deployed in 2008. Being an Army National Guard wife and not living on post, Angela found herself with no resources, support or advice from other military families and there was also a large separation between the active duty and Reserve/National Guard communities. The resources that were around were discouraging, negative and not supportive of all branches.
Wanting to ensure that other families would never feel this discouragement, she started writing about her experiences for various online publications. Shortly after writing for spouses and families, Angela still felt as if something were missing. She started a Facebook fan page where other spouses could get together and share stories, advice or just vent, and a year later the Homefront United Network was launched. With the help of many HUN team members, we have been able to reach out to other spouses and families who are in need of support.
The Homefront United Network is here to provide all service members, military spouses and family members a comfortable and positive environment. This is a place for you to gain resources, vent, support others and celebrate our lives as military spouses, family and friends. Our real-life stories are shared in hopes of connecting you with others.
Our lives are more than just deployments; we are also about family, friends, support, and understanding. We hope that you find the support and encouragement that you need here at the Homefront United Network.
