Vacation is something that we all think about, but what most of us seldom get to actually take. My husband and I talk about taking a vacation all the time. We’ve planned so many of them only for it to fall through because life gets in the way. After six years in between vacations, we finally decided to set responsibility aside and just go. We took everything we got back in our tax return and put it into a dream vacation. At first it was really difficult to decide what to do that would fit into our budget. But after going over our options and crunching the numbers, we landed on Sandals.
My husband wanted to go someplace tropical and warm, so we started looking at different resort companies. As we researched them, we realized that many companies had fine print, listing things that weren’t included in their all-inclusive packages. In other words, they weren’t all-inclusive at all! When we discovered Sandals, there was no fine print. Everything really was included in their price. The room, food, drinks, water sports, and so much more are all included in the price.
We chose to go to Sandals Emerald Bay on Great Exuma Island, the day came for us to get on the plane and head down to the Bahamas. After a small snafu with our flight, we finally landed and headed to our resort. When we arrived and were immediately struck by the beauty of it all. Everything from the turquoise waters of the Caribbean to the resort grounds was absolutely incredible. Each member of the staff we met was friendly and very helpful. Our room was beautiful and had an amazing view of the ocean.
One of the best parts of going to a Sandals resort for vacation is the fact that everything is taken care of. When you arrive, you stick your wallet in the safe in your room and leave it there until you check out. At Sandals, even tipping is not allowed. You can eat whatever you want, whenever you want. You can drink what you want, when you want it. You never have to worry about the cost. There are a couple of restaurants at each resort that require reservations, so I recommend you make those when you arrive. But, we were never disappointed in any of the food we ate the entire time we were there.
Sandals is designed to cater to couples and give them the most romantic vacation they can have. We met people who had been married less than a week and other couples that had been married for forty years. Everyone was there for the same reason, to relax and have a good time. The resorts are set up so that if you want time alone with your spouse, you can find places to do just that, or there are plenty of opportunities to make new friends and hand out with the other resort guests. There was karaoke, concerts, games, and even sports.
All in all our Sandals experience was the most amazing experience we’ve ever had on a vacation. From our first day at the resort, we were already planning on when we could do it again. The whole feeling there is so relaxing and everyone is so nice. It wasn’t just the staff that was friendly, every other guest we talked to was just as friendly. On top of that, they were all more than willing to share their experiences at each of the other resorts they had visited.
If you are looking for more of a family getaway, don’t worry. Sandals’ sister resorts, Beaches, offers the same perks and even the same military discount. The only difference is, they cater to families. They are the all-inclusive trip for the whole family. Sandals is the resort for couples, and Beaches is the resort for everyone. Couples and families alike get together for a truly all inclusive vacation! Either way you go, your vacation is sure to be one of dreams when you go with the Sandals Company!
