|THE FOLLOWING CONVERSATIONS ACTUALLY OCCURRED BETWEEN MYSELF AND MY LOVELY WIFE BARBARA LAST MONTH:
BARB: “Will you please stop talking about that soap!”
ME: “But it’s awesome, it works really well, cleans just about anything, and it’s non-toxic.”
THREE DAYS LATER…
ME: “You should see what that soap just did!”
BARB: “Enough about that soap already! That’s all very exciting, let’s move on.”
THE FOLLOWING WEEK:…
BARB: “OMG! I used that soap you won’t stop talking about today. It cleaned things I haven’t been able to get clean for the last seven years, and I’ve tried EVERYTHING!”
The topic of our discussions was “Dr. Bronner’s Liquid Castile Soap.”
DISCLAIMER: THE HOMEFRONT UNITED NETWORK AND AUTHOR OF THIS ARTICLE HAVE NOT BEEN FINANCIALLY COMPENSATED FOR RAVING ABOUT THIS ECO-FRIENDLY, NON-TOXIC, MONEY SAVING, SUPER EFFECTIVE, TIME SAVING PRODUCT.
Most of us unknowingly poison ourselves multiple times a day by using products containing toxic chemicals that are absorbed through our skin and mixed with the air we breathe.
Some of these products might have labels that say warm fuzzy things like:
– All Natural
– Environmentally Friendly
– Container contains at least 75% recycled material
– No penguins were harmed while testing this product
But if you look closely, the labels probably also say things like:
– Keep out of the reach of children
– Avoid skin contact
– In case of contact with eyes, rinse thoroughly
– If ingested, call the poison control hotline
– DO NOT LOOK DIRECTLY AT THE BOTTLE
(Dr. Bronner’s label may look like it was written by someone on an acid trip, but it doesn’t contain any of these disclaimers.)
You see, many household cleaners contain dangerous chemicals that are known to cause not only skin and eye irritation…but cancer and other serious health issues. If you want to learn more about how chemical stress, or any other kind of stress affects your body, just ask your adrenal gland.
Why aren’t we being warned?
The manufacturers don’t want us to know. Even though they should tell us, they won’t…BECAUSE THEY DON’T HAVE TO. But we’re not going to get into that…we’re here to talk about castile soap. There are different castile soaps on the market. Dr. Bronner’s works for us.
It’s VERY affordable, VERY effective, non-toxic, and has undergone rigorous testing.
(the rigorous testing involved me pouring various sticky substances on the kitchen counter one Friday afternoon, waiting for them to dry, and using the soap to remove them.) It worked better than anything I’ve EVER used.
Based on additional personal experience, one bottle of castile soap can replace the following products:
Hardwood floor cleaner, tile cleaner, counter cleaner, sink cleaner, dish soap, shower cleaner, toilet bowl cleaner, window cleaner, furniture polish, pet mistake cleaner, “male cook kitchen disaster” cleaner…the list is seemingly endless.
And for you germophobes out there, no worries. Castile soap contains essential oils. Essential oils have natural “bacteriocidal” (germ-killing) properties.
Chemical-free cleaning products are safer for you, your children, your pets AND the environment.
Make the switch today. Then share your cleaning successes and ideas with the rest of the Homefront United Network in the comments below!
