School Coordinator – Philadelphia Academies Inc – Philadelphia, PA

Primary Objective:
Plan, manage and implement the delivery of career academy supports (i.e., direct student services and technical assistance) in selected Philadelphia Academies, Inc. partner schools. Career academy supports are provided in accordance with school-based plans that are developed jointly with partner schools.

Responsibilities and Duties:
Team Leadership
Working with Academy Coach in planning, prioritizing, coordinating and the delivery of program services and school-based capacity building supports in partner schools (as defined by the school-based plans); ensure that PAI standards and procedures are being followed in the field; confer with Academy Coach and review school plan timetables and results; and represent the team at appropriate internal and external meetings.

Teacher Professional Development
Work with a team led by the Academy Coach to develop and implement a tailored professional development agenda in schools that is part of the school based plans.

Data Analysis
Regularly review and assess student and school process outcomes with the team and suggest mid-course corrections.

Relationship Management
Work with teaching team to schedule ongoing delivery of student programming.

Skills Necessary for the Successful Performance of Responsibilities and Duties:

Project Leadership, Management and Collaboration
Able to: think systemically about problems and issues; create and execute project work plans and revise as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements; identify resources needed and assign staff responsibilities; manage in-school service coordination and delivery; work within a team and across teams; analyze relevant data, identify trends, identify problems and propose solutions; manage multiple projects simultaneously with minimal supervision; ensure project documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately.

Facilitation and Training
Facilitation, training, and group dynamics experience.

Communications and Relationship Management
Excellent writing and analytical skills; ability to negotiate with teachers and school leadership; ability to adapt and adjust to different school environments and classroom situations; ability to listen openly to what other people are saying and ask appropriate questions.

Youth Engagement and Development
Maintain a hope and vision for young people that they may not see for themselves; ability to engage young people and gain enjoyment from the experience; knowledge of different ways of learning and ability to use multiple approaches to learning.

Technology
Comfort and skill with major business software (i.e., Microsoft Word, Power Point, Excel); and familiarization and experience with data management software such as Raiser’s Edge.

Deliverables
– Student services delivered within the deadlines in the school-based plans.
– Development and implementation of at least one project-based learning activity per class per grade in partnership with teachers.
– Timely data collection and documentation into PAI data management systems.
– Preparation and recruitment of students for WorkReady internships and industry pipelines.

Outcomes
– Increased 21st century competencies in students including: teamwork/collaboration; problem
solving; financial literacy; and social networking.
– Increased number participating in PAI Signature Events.
– Increased number of students matched to internships.
– Increased engagement of teachers in the delivery of student programming.

Salary Range: Commensurate with experience

Electrical Engineer (Power Generation) – Philadelphia, PA

The selected candidates will be interfacing with U.S. Navy civilian engineers, program managers and logisticians as well as equipment manufacturers.

Examples of Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

-Assisting in design and engineering of shipboard electrical power generation and distribution systems.
-Preparing, revising, and/or reviewing technical manuals, engineering operating procedures, instructions, specifications, standards and PMS documentation for cognizant equipment and systems.
-Conducting shipboard and land-based testing, investigations, analyses and evaluations of equipment to determine causes of operational problems and casualties and provide engineering solutions to improve operational availability.
-Conducting engineering development and Test and Evaluation (T&E) support.

Skills, Abilities, Traits & Education:

-BS in Electrical Engineering
– 2 – 8 years of electrical power systems experience
– Experience with shipboard electrical systems a definite plus

The position may require up to 25% travel to attend program review/status meetings. The candidate must be a US citizen and be capable of obtaining a Secret D.O.D. security clearance.

Salary Range: $75,000 – $85,000

Business Unit Manager

This manager will be responsible for our Machine Shop, Shipping & Receiving, and Facilities, and will report to the Director of Operations.  The person we seek is currently in a junior to mid level managerial or supervisory position, has aspirations to move into progressively higher level positions and preferably holds an undergraduate degree in a technical discipline along with a master’s degree.   The successful candidate will be self-motivated and analytical with the background or demonstrated ability to lead and develop people and have prior experience in a manufacturing environment of highly engineered products. Requirements include:

–      Three to five years experience in an operational leadership role

–      Experience in lean enterprise and continuous improvement

–      Experience with project management, inventory control and basic human resources

–      Experience with Material Resource Planning and Detail Capacity Planning.

–      A strong understanding of business fundamentals including basic finance

 

Lead Engineer / Project Manager

This manager will manage our motors/position feedback product line design team, and will report to the Director of Engineering and Quality.  The manager will analyze design requirements, capacity, cost, and customer needs to determine feasibility of custom engineering design projects; develop cost estimates, design approach, and project plans based on requirements; lead project teams to project completion; and provide regular project status reports and present to senior management.  Requirements include:

–     BS or higher in mechanical, electrical, industrial, or other major engineering discipline with a minimum of 7 years experience in design of devices such as motors and actuators. Strong problem solving, critical thinking skills and experience with troubleshooting design and manufacturing problems and dealing with resource limitations.

–     Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure in multi-discipline / multi-project / multi-task environment with aggressive and demanding deadlines.

–     Experience with aerospace design requirements strongly preferred.

 

Quality Manager / Engineer

This is primarily a Quality Engineer position, but the person will also be responsible for managing all Quality Assurance activities of the company.  This position reports to the Director of Engineering and Quality.  Responsibilities include:  planning and conducting process improvement / root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions; ensuring compliance with quality and engineering requirements; preparing key metrics relating to quality activities; coordinating and communicating with internal departments, customer QA, supplier QA, and third party auditors.  Requirements include

–      Minimum of 5 years relevant quality, manufacturing, industrial or process engineering experience in ISO9000 or AS9100 certified company.

–      Strong problem solving, analytical/critical thinking skills and experience with troubleshooting design and manufacturing problems.

–      6 Sigma Black Belt certification with practical, on-the-job DOE experience and software tool experience preferred.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities of This Job:

  • Perform the tasks Putaway, Putaway TRs, Pulling, Pulling Airs, moving skids by using a forklift, pallet jack, using a RF scanner to process the tasks.
  • Perform the Case Label tasks by processing inbound cartons to forward to the sorter; processing outbound cartons to return to inventory, use a RF scanner to process the tasks…
  • Perform the Induction/Sorter tasks by sorting and placing items on the sorter according to requirements/regulations.
  • Perform the Packing task by using a RF scanner to process the tasks, placing items in the cartons, pushing the cartons once full onto the conveyor, making boxes.
  • Perform the Shipping tasks by scaling cartons, printing/affixing shipping labels, auditing cartons with errors, tape cartons according to specifications/requirements, load cartons onto a truck/trailer.
  • Perform the Receiving tasks by unloading cartons from truck/trailer, using a RF scanner to receive into the DC inventory; process type 2, BSR, CTO and “hot” receipts and move cartons/units to Case Label.
  • Maintains a safe and clean work environment by maintaining workstations neat and clean; complying with safety procedures, rules and wearing PPE such as harness when driving a forklift, hard hats, gloves, back belts, etc.
  • Contributes to the team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities for This Job:

  • 1 year minimum general warehouse experience
  • Experience with RF Scanners a plus
  • Forklift experience, willing to learn to drive a Forklift a plus

Veterans Green Jobs – Weatherization Training Program – Free for Veterans

Veterans Green Jobs at Bucks County Community College is excited to announce the Weatherization Training Program.  The training is an opportunity for Veterans to gain valued experience in the rapidly expanding “Green Industry” or further their skills in the building trades. The 3 week long training program offers training and certifications for Pennsylvania Weatherization Installer, OSHA 10 and First Aid/CPR/AED.  The course is 3 consecutive weeks and Monday through Friday all day course set to begin on January 9th, 8am-4pm, at the BCCC Green Jobs Academy located in Bristol, Pa.
