Frank and I discussed writing our own vows for our wedding ceremony. After much thought and consideration, we decided against it and instead wrote each other a letter. Our letters were delivered to each other, by the maid of honor and best man, the morning of the wedding.
I knew we wanted to keep them and be able to reflect on them, daily, but I wasn’t sure how to display them. I got a little crafty this past week and they are now hanging in our bedroom.
We didn’t end up going with traditional vows or readings during the wedding, but instead, picked things that had a lot of meaning to us.
When we exchanged rings, we said, “From this day forward, You shall not walk alone. My heart will be your shelter, And my arms will be your home.”
And my vows to Frank, “I Katie, take you Frank, to be my husband, my partner in life and my one true love. I will cherish our union and love you more each day than I did the day before. I will trust you and respect you, laugh with you and cry with you, loving you faithfully through good times and bad, regardless of the obstacles we may face together. I give you my hand, my heart, and my love, from this day forward for as long as we both shall live.”
Words are important to us and I want to find someway to display these words. I’ve thought about having them printed out and framing them, similar to our letters to each other, with pictures from the ceremony. I’ve also thought about having them engraved on a frame or etched into glass.
I can’t make up my mind and need some crafty and creative help! I know there must be a million different ways to display, commemorate and remember these words, but I just can’t think of them! How would you display something like this? What unique idea do you have that I haven’t thought of?
